Out and About

This past weekend we ventured out to the Shedd Aquarium for some good wholesome family fun with Matt's friend Chuck and his wife and 2 year old, Charlie. Matt and Chuck were roommates in college and we were all cracking up thinking about what the 20 year old versions of themselves would be thinking if they could see them on our trip to the aquarium on a Saturday morning at 9:30. So, when I found out we were going my first thought was, of course, yay!! exciting picture taking opportunities!!

Well, as you will see, I only took 4 pictures because my battery died 5 minutes after we entered the building. Yay me.

Leila looking at the creepy eels...

Sunday morning; licking her bowl clean...she loves her bananas and rice!

For Super Bowl we ended up going to a friend's house for a party. We were a little uncertain about how it would go since Leila's bedtime was not too long after the start time, but we decided to roll the dice and play it by ear. She was great the whole time and we made it to half time successfully.

Our Super Bowl party hosts also have a baby, Lauren 4 months old...

Leila, as her much wiser elder, was happy to take her under her wing

Having fun with Haven

After our jam-packed weekend of fun, we continued the good times by celebrating Matt's "one year anniversary of his 29th birthday" (as he put it). Since we are heading off to NYC later this week, we just had dinner at home. He requested my famous Jerk Pork Burgers with Apple Slaw and I made his favorite veggie and favorite fried food item as the sides.

Here's the meal!
