Settling In

Well, we've passed the three week mark of parenting two kids, and we've all survived! The first two weeks went off without a hitch...week three had us scrambling a little, and week four is throwing us for a loop. Leila, who seemed to be transitioning to the role of big sister quite well, may be struggling a little these days. She has decided that she can't fall asleep without someone sitting in her room with her and wakes up in the middle of the night requiring company as well. Her good sleep habits were the one constant we were really depending on as we embarked on this newborn phase again! Now what?! Well, we aren't sure. Another fun obstacle in the world of parenting and our first battle to conquer as parents of two.

Besides sleep deprivation and moments of total frustration, things are going quite well. Leila is still totally in love with her brother, and I'm totally in love with my son. I feel so blessed to have two healthy, beautiful kids. Is it easy? No. But, yes, I think I'm settling in just fine to this new phase.
