And So It Begins...Again!

I'm so excited (and exhausted, delirious, emotional...)to announce the arrival of Nathan Thomas Ishikawa! He arrived on Friday, October 7th (what a birthday gift for Ama Ishi!), at 7:22pm. Weighing in at 7 lbs. 13 oz. and measuring 21 inches. A perfect baby boy entered the world after a long day of waiting, but ultimately a great birth experience as I only had to push for about 5 minutes! Unlike Leila's birth, there was no drama (could this be foreshadowing of his personality?) and I was able to hold him right away before he was even cleaned up or the umbilical cord cut. It was a great experience!

After two nights in the hospital and a year's worth of game show viewing, Matt, Nathan, and I headed home; Leila met back up with us and all seemed right in the world as we started our new life as a family of four.

So far Leila has been the best big sister we could have hoped for...always wanting to hold Nathan, help mommy, and sharing her toys. Although this is all strangely similar, it is also uncharted territory as we try to balance two kids, but like we've said from the beginning of this parenting journey, we'll just play it by ear, and hope for the best.
