Salmon, and Sprinklers, and Sunshine, Oh My!

Our summer trip to the Northwest came to an end last Wednesday and a great time was had by all. Leila met a lot of new faces and spent every day being ogled at by them. She was such a trooper and I think I can safely say she now has stolen the hearts of many in the Pacific Northwest. After several salmon meals, hours getting soaked by the sprinkler, and afternoons enjoying family in the Northwest sunshine, we all were sad to say goodbye. Now exhausted, but finally starting to get caught up and back into reality, I'll save my witty remarks and mushy heartfelt comments and just get to the pictures...

Day One: Vancouver, WA

Leila makes herself at home at Aunt Cindi and Uncle Ralph's

Leila and Lola finally meet!

Lola comes in for a hug!

Too cute, just 3 weeks apart!

Day 2: Relaxing in Vancouver

Lunching al fresco

Loving life in the Northwest

Happy hour with Lola

All the girls

Day 3: More fun in Vancouver and Hood River

While the Grandmas were at home caring for the girls, we enjoyed wine tasting and beer tours!

Grandma and her girl

Grandpa Chuck reads Leila a story...

Day 4: Home Sweet Home, Seattle WA

Chillin' in the cool shade

Day 5: Soaking in the Seattle sun

It was beer in Phoenix, and now champagne in Seattle (don't freak out, she didn't really drink it...)

Leila greets Uncle Nick with a head butt...

Loving the attention from her uncle and auntie

Leila was introduced to the sprinkler in Great Grandpa P's yard, and couldn't get enough!

Tongues!

Good times with Leila

Day 6: Continued family time in Seattle and at Lake Sammamish

Leila and her Grandpa P

Just another afternoon relaxing in the yard

Leila meets Grandpa Rog during a beautiful day at Lake Sammamish

Enjoying the lake...

Leila and Bella meet (cousins, just 3 months apart!)

Day 7: Playing tourist in downtown Seattle

Heading to Pike Place Market

When visiting Pike Place, it is customary to take a picture with the pig.

Almost walking...only hanging on with one hand!

Grandma and Leila spy a fish!

Leila wants to be a fish thrower

Leila loves Washington apples!

Day 8: Visiting my old UW stomping grounds and meeting Bachan!

Leila's first teriyaki

Leila's meets her great-grandma (aka Bachan, Matt's grandma)

Bachan's walker works for Leila too!

And finally, after being dragged back and forth through the sprinkler too many times, on our last afternoon my dad came up with the idea to put a cooler in the middle of it so she could just stand there and get wet. She loved it.

Peek-a-boo

  1. I love your "witty remarks and mushy heartfelt comments" please don't restrain yourself.
Leila actually looks like she had a couple or more sips of that champagne.
