Family Fun Time

As summer continues, the good times keep rolling by...we enjoyed a lot of pool time both in our backyard and at our neighborhood pool.  Leila successfully completed a session of swim lessons and now loves to go under water!  We had a great time at our block party, and our week in Michigan was jam packed with family fun!  We kicked off the week celebrating Doug and Kristi as they got married, and continued the party with the whole family at a lake house in New Buffalo.

Bubby got in some nude swim practice one afternoon...

Can you tell Bubba likes to wear as little as possible most days?

Life is not too bad when you're in the shade, wearing your glasses upside down, snacking, and watching big sister in the pool...
Leila passes her swimming lessons!  So proud of her new skills!

Just to make things interesting, Bubby ended up with a fever and rash a few days before we were leaving for Michigan, and then fell down a couple of stairs and fractured his wrist!  Never a dull moment around here.  Thankfully he recovered from the virus quickly, but naturally the sickness was passed on to Leila before we left.  She was feeling pretty awful our first day in Michigan, which also included the rehearsal and dinner.  However, my girl has an immune system like no other, and by go time on wedding day, she was good as gold!

A few pics from the rehearsal...

Natey was totally obsessed with all the lion statues on the property...

The ladies

The wedding day turned out to be much, much, much chillier than expected!  But, it didn't spoil the fun for anyone, and all the sweat-prone family members (Leila included) were happy to have the cooler temps.  The wedding was perfect...Leila did a great job as a veteran flower girl, and Bubby looked dapper and cute as ever even though he was scared out of his mind to walk down the aisle (explaining the reason for my walk down with him...)

Doing a great job!  She even stopped at the end of the aisle and dropped every last one of her petals just to make sure she completed her task.  That's my Leila!

Once the wedding weekend was over, we all settled in to our vacation house and soaked in all the family time we could.

One of my favorite pics ever.
Love that these three were able to spend so much time together!

The Big Wagon Ordeal:
Not really a big deal at all, but it played out pretty dramatically! On an afternoon walk, Matt was playing "airplane driver" and the wagon ended up tipping over on the gravel road.  Cut to Matt feeling awful, William and Nathan with road rash on their faces, Leila with a scrape on her shoulder, and a lot of crying.

You can't go to Michigan without picking some fruit...so we hit up the blueberry patch!
