Dear Bubba Bear,
You turned one this past weekend, which really seems impossible, but yet I can't imagine a life without you. Like your sister, you bring something so unique and beautiful to my life and I really can't put into words what loving you both feels like. You were born into this world such a relaxed and easygoing tiny newborn, and have continued to be such a calming part of our busy lives. Although you have become very active and curious, you remain so sweet, adaptable, and easygoing. Some things I know about you: you love your mommy; you get sooo excited when your daddy walks into a room; you are obsessed with watching your big sister and want so bad to play along side her; you are also obsessed with our cat, Bob, who has tolerated your pulls and pokes quite well thus far; you love to eat, especially pancakes, waffles, and cake; you have smiles that light up a room, but don't share them with just anyone; you love exploring; you are a tough little boy when you hurt yourself, but your feelings are hurt easily; you love your bed and cuddling up with your blankie; you are curious, spunky, and love music! I have fallen so madly in love with you over this past year that I sometimes feel overwhelmed with feelings of love, pride, and gratitude. And so, after a weekend filled with celebration for you and your first year, I want to tell you how much I love you and love being your mom. Happy First Birthday to my Baby Bubba Bear.

On Bubby's actual birthday, we decided to try a trip out to the apple orchard...unfortunately it was a total bust as all the apples were picked! We still had a fun time and had Bubs enjoyed a Chicken Shwarma and Falafel birthday lunch.

The final "celebration" of Bubby's birthday came today with his big 1 year doctor checkup. He weighed in at 22 lbs (just 8 lbs shy of Leila!) and is 30 1/4 inches tall (65th %). He had a high fever yesterday, which turns out is due to an ear infection, so as an extra bonus for his birthday he gets to take his first antibiotic! Whoo hoo!
