We spent Thanksgiving weekend checking all our "to-dos" off the Before Baby Arrives List. We spent a relaxing Thanksgiving day making pie and then hosting our family for dinner (the whole dinner came to us and all we had to do was enjoy it!), followed by a Black Friday filled with picking out our tree, lunch, and seeing the new Disney movie Frozen at the theater. Loved the movie, but now I'm finding myself involved in Leila's imaginary world in which she is one of the princesses in the movie (Elsa, because "she has the prettiest dress") and I'm every other character. Constantly.
Leila had a Thanksgiving feast at school and they made pilgrim hats.
Natey wanted a hat too...
Making our apple pie!
The finished product with paper leaves and all! (Leila had plans of making this pie for months now...including her vision of leaves decorating the top!)
Eating in peace
First year of bingo for Leila (and Natey too)
Tree shopping at Home Depot!
Saturday we went to see Santa at our annual favorite spot, Bass Pro Shop. Leila was soooo excited and couldn't wait to sit on his lap, get her candy cane, and tell him what she wanted (a Fur Real Kitty and wedding princesses) and Bubba started out excited, but quickly became stressed as our turn approached. He decided he didn't want to sit on Santa's lap, but was willing to stand close enough to get his candy cane, take a picture, and tell him he wanted dinosaurs. It all went very well and it was one of those moments where you just get high off being a parent of really cute kids. Also, I was thankful they both stuck with their latest plan of what to ask for so that the gifts I already bought would actually somewhat coincide with their requests. Phew!
Arrived at the "North Pole!"

Santa!
I've never seen anyone eat a candy cane like him...the entire thing in at once!
Yum!
Riding Santa's carousel
Look who we ran into! Addi was there to see Santa too!
After our Santa visit we decorated our tree; both kids loved hanging the ornaments and they did a good job sharing the duties, minus one meltdown moment in which they both insisted on helping Daddy put on the angel. Somehow he found a way to lift them both up and include them both in the process!

Finally, after a trip to Costco on Sunday, we felt like we had accomplished what we needed to and could relax!
Oh, and I forgot to mention we decided to visit the Shedd Aquarium on Wednesday since Leila had no school and we may not be doing a big family outing like that for awhile. Both kids loved it...Leila's favorite was the sea dragons, and Natey's was the frogs.
Checking out the jelly fish...
And that's that. Christmas and Baby...bring it on!
