To get ready for the school year, Leila and I had a special day together going to her orientation, getting her well check up with the doctor (she is perfectly healthy and still tall for her age...85%), visiting the mall for some new shoes (she only wants shoes that sparkle), and eating wherever she wanted (she picked Panda Express...)
We had such a fun time hanging out; after feeling a little weepy that she is getting so big, it was great to have time together that made me appreciate her growing up as well!
Even though Natey isn't starting school, we figured it was a good time to get his
first hair cut...it was long overdue!
Before:
In we go...
Snip #1
His usual reaction to things we are excited about...but doesn't he look handsome!
Loving her big girl bike...she rides pretty much every afternoon!
Excited for ballet to begin!
Labor Day weekend bbq with friends
The Last Fling!
Appearing to be brave...but only moments later, Natey boy had a total break down and we had to ask the operator to stop the ride!
Try #2 on a slower ride...but yet another break down and again had to stop the ride...
Natey opted out of the ferris wheel, so Daddy and Leila enjoyed their own ride
Another Daddy/Leila ride together...it's a tradition!
Coming home with lots of carnival crap...whoopee!
First Day of School!
Leila takes time to read a book to Bubba before getting ready...
And here she is...my big 4 year old heading off to 4-day Preschool!
And my Big Kahuna wanted his picture taken too!
To welcome her home later that day, Bubba tried out a new wrestling move on Leila
Bath night with Daddy!
Bubba and I are enjoying our mornings together!
Natey always has the biggest hug for Leila everyday when we pick her up at school...it's so sweet.
As an early anniversary/we-aren't-going-to-be-able-to-get-away-for-a-very-long-time gift to ourselves, Matt and I enjoyed a long weekend in San Francisco. Thanks to Ama and Papa, we were able to enjoy a beautiful weekend without kids!
And then it's back home to enjoying a beautiful Saturday at the apple orchard! Funny how two weekends can be so different and yet both so fun...
Leila and some neighbor kids at a get together
Princess Leila at a Beauty Salon Birthday Party...glitter, makeup, and all!
Being silly in Daddy's and Mommy's shoes
And lastly, we celebrate our 7th Anniversary! What a full and happy 7 years it has been. Life keeps changing, our family keeps growing, and I am so lucky.
